He took the name of his wife Leadora Bennett Whitecomb and the area where he lived which was a glen in the San Gabriel Mountains. And that is how Glendora came to be. Glendora is said to have some of the best state ranking school in the state of California. The Elementary schools are La Fetra, Cullen, Stanton, Selllers, and Sutherland.
Their Middles Schools are Sandburg and Goddard. With Glendora High School and Whitecomb Continuation hish school being the only high schools in the area.
